This controller is fantastic as it should be for the price, they nailed the paddles and the interchangeable thumb sticks for when the sticks inevitably begin to drift is awesome. The magnetic feature they use for the paddles and switching them is so sleek and efficient also the carrying case that your controller comes in is a nice plus. Recommend 10/10

Better then I thought my son has elite 2 for Xbox and he is very jealous better mapping easier to switch between programs having in game menu to switch he really was hating on me. i have owned this for 2 weeks now.dont listen to you foolers or such who trash just to get clicks.the controller price is less than what you pay for a aftermarket solution that WONT have trigger stops.i built a extremerate PS4 mod back in dec 2020 and that cost me 125 alone..as for batt life its a solid 8 hrs no issue as IF YOU BUY THIS YOU BUY IT FOR FPS GAMES..and you dont want haptics on…ANYWAY!…right!i like the software alot something you cant do on 3rd party solutions…and fact you can swap out the sticks if you get drift is a HUGE DEAL…plus the fact you can probley mod a stick as well to be super light…think of that for a sec…each stick is removeable …and costs only $20….forget hall effect hoopla…this is probley one big area most people missed..the fact that they are easy to swap out means you could in fact mod one with lighter tension for faster movement…also the paddles allow for 2 differant positions …down or side ..something no one really metioned at all…all you really need is a dock…8 hours is enough for most gaming sessions and the cable works great….on a note there really no lattency difference between the two…PS4 controllers have huge latency pluged in…this controller is not for everyone…but if you play shooters its a 100% best in class better than any fancy $300 skuff like or whatever solution.i mod controllers so i know the TRUE VALUE OF A EDGE…very few of you will grasp what a huge deal the software and quick swap sticks are ….it not untill you have the edge a few days and use it will you grasp it…like i said before the swapable sticks have a hidden gem in the fact for $20 you can buy one and probley mod it for faster operation (ligthter tension)if you wanna play with haptics games just use the normal dual sense for those games…

Simply awesome and worth every penny spent.
I absolutely love this controller. This is by far the best PS5 controller I’ve ever owned . It’s very simple to change the modules and sticks. Just the push of a switch pops the cover off. Also configuring the button mapping and stick sensitivity is easy . Creating your own profile for different games is effortless. It feels sturdy, just all around well made. The battery life isn’t the greatest but I usually keep it plugged in anyway. The locking mechanism for the usb cable is also nice. Which I believe will greatly extend the life of the wire. Everything else about the controller is just great in my opinion. If you’re a hardcore gamer I really think it is well worth 200 dollars. I have spent more money on other custom aftermarket controllers, yet the Edge is so much better.

Excellent for PC gaming
Some people believe the Sony controllers are the descendants of the one true line of gamepads, the SNES/SFC controller.Any way, I only ever use this with a wired connection and have zero complaints. The rumble/force feedback/haptics whatever we’re calling it now is subtly the most underrated thing about it. I also like programming the giant unmissable touchpad button for map or pause in different games, really convenient. The only downside is having to download the update program, which is small anyway. Overall this is the best controller I’ve ever used in 35+ years of gaming. Amazingly, it’s worth the MSRP.

Best controller for the Steam Deck to date
This is the third controller I’ve gotten for my Steam Deck to play it in docked mode. Previously I’ve gotten an Xbox Elite 2 and the PDG Victrix Pro BFG. While the Xbox Elite works with the Deck, it is buggy and the paddles are no longer mappable after a firmware update. The Pro BFG just did not work at all with my Deck. This guy here, everything works. Paddles are mappable and the connection stays solid. Nice weighty controller with replaceable sticks too and a solid case.Some cons though. I still feel the DualShock 4 controllers are still more comfortable to hold than the DualSense ones. Having a set of paddles on the front of the controller just below the sticks feels like the wrong place to put them. The lack of color options was also disappointing. Having a white controller to go with the black Deck feels like a mismatch. And lastly, it’s a fairly expensive controller. But to be fair, those are rather small nitpicks.Some

Great controller for competitive gaming.
In my opinion this beats the scuff & battle beavers I’ve had in the past. I love the feel of the ps5 controller & being able to have back paddles is great, BUT I do think the Microsoft Elite controller beats it with durability & stronger materials. Overall I love this controller, I just wish it felt like it was built to last forever. Especially for the high price tag.

a bit heavy but love the haptic feedback
Love the controller and the haptic feedback, using it with a PC but am able to update the software officially, the haptic works only when connected with a USB cable, the problem is that the d-pad started failing and I have to open the controller and clean dust and pet hair to fix it. I don’t have drifting as I’m not a heavy gamer after 3 years, but if happens to me, Hope the drifting could be fixed in the next ps5 pro version jajaja.

I used a 4 button, high tension custom Battle Beaver for a few years on PS4. Got my PS5 in July of 2022 and the stock PS5 controller had drift by November. I’ve been having an internal battle over what to do for my controller situation.The cost of this item seems steep, and I think it is a bit steep. This could and should cost $160-175. Amazon paid for this thanks to all the Amazon account points I have, so that lessens the sting.I’ve put more than 20 hours on it since receiving and have zero MAJOR complaints. I don’t play wireless so battery life does not bother me. I have done some DMZ/Warzone and a lot of Lightfall (yes when considering my game choice you must realize I’m a glutton for punishment).I do wish I had more adjustability choices for rear buttons. There should be 4 buttons and not two and I just wish I could have different placement options.

Using with PC (Steam & Xbox GAME PASS)
Everyone knows this controller by now, so this review is only going to be limited to the use of this controller with a PC.I originally bought this controller because I wanted to experience the Adaptive Triggers functionality with some of the compatible Steam titles. Adaptive Triggers functionality is probably the coolest thing since the analog sticks.-With Steam:Steam will successfully connect and map (and properly name, such as X, O, R2, etc.) the controller’s buttons. The in-game menu, input, instructions, etc. will change to show the controller’s buttons on the screen (provided that the game supports controllers). The Steam controller firmware will give you control over virtually everything in the controller without the need for a third-party application.-With Xbox and GAME PASS:I am using DS4Windows to play Xbox games and Xbox GAME PASS games on PC with this controller. Since this is a third party app that tricks your computer into thinking that the input received from the DualSense is actually coming from an Xbox controller, the Xbox app will only show you the Xbox controller button names on the screen, and not the PlayStation button names. For example, you will see something like (Press B) or (Press LT), as opposed to showing you (Press O) or (Press L2), which can be hard to figure out if you are not familiar with the Xbox controller layout.Besides those notes above, the DualSense connects seamlessly to my PC. Steam, PlayStation, and Windows are all making a great job in constantly upgrading the firmware to make the controller compatible with more games. So it is already a good option and worth it at the moment and it will become even better in the future.

My favorite entry level controller
I was not really a PlayStation fan until the PS5, but I love this controller, the haptics are great, and it has rechargeable batteries, a touchpad and gyro. Not just great for console, but also my preferred controller for PC games. The only problem with that is that some games don’t natively support it, and you may need to install DS4 windows to use it for everything. The touchpad and gyro really make up for that, as you can use them to do something like move the mouse and operate some interfaces with just the controller. If you are looking for a PlayStation controller, you don’t have a ton of options, but if you have a choice in which controller to use like on PC, this is far better than the XBox and Switch controllers at the same price point

Alright let me start off that I have a scuf reflex pro custom, had a hexgaming rival pro before getting the dual sense edge.What I love the edge is the back button feels like hair trigger when pressing similar to an extremerate/hex gaming rival back button and comparing it to scuf reflex it takes more to activate the back buttonFew other things I like is that the thumbstick modules are replaceable, if you ever have a stick drift you could replace it easily. The trigger feels great although it’s not have a clicky setting(mouse click) setting it on the shortest travel is enough.I assume Sony will make version 2 of this controller that has 4 buttons instead and the trigger having the ability to become mouse click type.

Absolute game changer with endless ability to customize
I love this controller. I’m an avid , die hard mouse & keyboard pc player. I received a ps5 as an anniversary gift and hated the stock controller. When the dual sense edge was announced I was skeptical. I wondered what warrented a $ 200 price tag. I pawed at the thought of purchasing and pulled the trigger. I was instantly pleased with the actual response and addition of bumper buttons. My only 2 gripes are the horrible battery life and only having 2 buttons on the back. They include a long cable with the ability to lock the cable in place so that it doesnt come unplugged. If you have been looking for an answer for the ps5 and is clunky feeling controller this is the answer. Also…. hardcore gamers analog drift has been fixed on this monster with the ability to replace the analogs. The initial higher cost saves in the long run when drift eventually sets in. 5 stars and well worth it in my novice playstation experience

Overall nice upgrade over original controller. I wish they used new type of internal joysticks. Because they did not I don’t expect them to last long. On the plus side, is it will be easier to replace them instead of buying a whole new controller. For pc the jury is out I haven’t got it to work with any games. However, looking online I have seen that if I download steam beta edition and DSX it should work. So hopefully this is true. For ps5 it’s definitely great. Only wish they added 4 Paddles and magnetromiter joysticks. I do hear rumors of a company that will be selling upgraded joysticks.

Best features in controller
I having owned or even used a PlayStation system since the PS2 so I was looking forward to getting back into that ecosystem. I love the innovation in these Dual Sense PS5 controllers and it actually feels great in hand but I still prefer the Xbox controller layout and feel. Plus, there is no faster option to recharge batteries than to swap in fresh ones, preferably rechargeable batteries. When the Dual Sense batteries are worn out, it’s over and these controllers are about $70US today, in 2023 so just imagine the price in a few years cause you’re going to get at least a few years out of them. By the way, battery life is already kinda lean. But the controllers absolutely are different and “next gen” even if the features are a bit gimmicky, I’ll take that kinda of innovation/ gimmick for the price of these especially after being away from PlayStation for over a decade.

Beware if getting for PC
I have a love/hate relationship with this controller, and that’s because there’s so many awesome things about it that are brought down by a few massive issues. First, the good. The controller is really comfortable. I have big hands, and the DualShock and Xbox controllers were often too small, making my hands hurt after using them for extended period of times. The DualSense is weighty, comfortable, and works well for long play sessions. It looks incredible, feels nice, and when it works with games it works. The haptic feedback is incredible…for the games that support it. Feeling pressure in triggers depending on what weapons your using, or locking up when one jams feels natural, smooth, and makes me wish more PC games supported the feature. It really adds a lot when it’s used well, but the problem is only a small handful of PC games support this, even when their console versions do.But, there are a number of things dragging my rating down. The first is battery life. This controller will die after a few hours of use, so if you’re someone who likes to play game for extended sessions you’ll likely have to do it at some point during your session or stop to charge. The second is connectivity. Steam is the only reliable PC gaming platform that will reliably support DualSense for both DS and non-DS games.But if you’re someone who has games on a number of platforms, be prepared for a number of problems. The controller can be really difficult to pair with the computer, both wirelessly and wired. Furthermore, the famous haptic feedback features only work with a small handful of third party titles outside of newer PS titles. Those titles that do have DS support require you to be wired while you play, which is both frustrating and ridiculous. You’re telling me that my computer, which is at least just as powerful if not more powerful than the PS5 can’t send the haptic feedback commands wirelessly?Updating the firmware for the controller can also be insanely frustrating, as it needs to be on and connected to the computer for the program to read and update the controller. Right now, after just 2 1/2 months after use, my controller has flat out decided to not turn on…at all. It’s fully charged, and I’ve tried both wired and unwired. It refuses to come on, and I’m being told online that it needs a firmware update…which I can’t do since it won’t come on for me to connect to the computer.All in all, this isn’t a terrible controller in the slightest, but if you’re picking it up to use for anything other than PS5 it’s really hard for me to suggest using this. When it works it’s incredible, and worth all the money I paid for it. But when it doesn’t work it just highlights how much I paid for this thing, and when you’re paying close to a hundred dollars for something you want it to be easy to use. Unfortunately, the DualSense isn’t always easy to use on PC, and for that reason I can’t justify recommending it at full price. If you can catch it on sale and don’t mind the connectivity issues or the limited uses for the haptic feedback, go for it. But if you were hoping to have a nice controller that would easily work with your computer and your games, you should get an Xbox controller or something else because this won’t be it for you.

Cool but not durable
I should start off by saying the PS5 controllers are actually really neat. I like the trigger effects personally, it goes to show how far gaming has come. My only issue is that since I bought my ps5 console back in the summer of 2021, this is my 4th controller. The other 3 have fallen due to one huge issue…. STICK DRIFT. I would lose countless amounts of games wether it be Call of Duty, Overwatch, GTA, or even crucial story parts where enemies can one shot kill you and my character is running into a wall. I shouldn’t have to buy a controller every couple of months because of one simple issue that should’ve been resolved since PS3/Xbox 360 era of consoles. It’s a really cool design but they aren’t durable at all.

Black is the way to go
I think the PS5 controllers are doomed to deteriorate over time & get stick drift or non functioning parts.I boguht this after my original controller that came with the console started experiencing stick drift.I have not had any problems with this controller thus far & the black makes for a much cooler aesthetic. The white gets dirty & stained up vs the black controller that always gives this pristine look. I also think the LED lights pop more just because of the color.Regardless of all that I now here my left joystick starting to deteriorate no signs of stick drift just yet but I can hear the stick squeaking and straining itself depending on what game I play. Again I think these controllers are just doomed to after awhile.Solid buy nonetheless if you’re looking for a regular controller that isn’t the standard white one.

Great controller, easy to use, and very accurate analog sticks. Improve my gaming for sure. Love the features just wish there was those options on PC.
